This course is designed to teach historical and contemporary views of people, places, events, and dates from multiple perspectives. Students will examine how these views have shaped the development of the United States of America from indigenous beginnings to its present status as a world influence. Students will also discern that many cultures have contributed and continue to contribute to this development. Upon completion of the course, students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to satisfy two Minnesota Graduation Standards for Social Studies, Themes of United States History, and Diverse Perspectives.
