8643 Movies & Literature

Students learn to become critical viewers of film and explore new ways of viewing both film and the world.  Students learn how film can manipulate an audience.  Students learn how to comparatively analyze film and print "versions" of the same story or material.  For two films studied, students read the book or story on which the films are based and then write a comparison of the films and their written sources.  Students also read critical reviews of the films they view.  Students study several current/classic films and literary pieces.  Students maintain journals and write film reviews.
