Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year at AGAPE High School! We are anticipating an amazing 2008-2009 school year with students achieving great things. Our student parents have strength, determination and vision to build a joyful and stable life for their children. The districts theme for the year is

“Belief in Action”

The AGAPE staff knows that your daughters can achieve great things in their lives and we will turn this belief into action every day. The districts mission is to provide a premier education for all with long-range goals for: high achievement, meaningful connections, and a respectful environment. This mission reflects my feelings perfectly. AGAPE students will be treated with respect and the student’s achievement will be the focus of our daily work.

We are fortunate to be part of you daughter’s path towards excellence. Our students bring an abundance of experiences and backgrounds to enrich us. We are blessed to have some of the finest and most dedicated faculty in Saint Paul Public Schools. Add to this our supportive parents and our possibilities do seem endless!

STUDENT PLANNER/ SCHOOL RULES

We have updated our student planner and we will provide this to your daughter on the first day of school. Please check the planner for school rules and school procedures for an efficient school experience. The planner contains information regarding: attendance, student discipline and much more. Please be sure you and your daughter review its contents.  Please make special note of our cell phone policy. We do not allow cell phones to be used in school.  The cell phone will be taken if a student is using their cell phone during the school day. There may be additional disciplinary consequences for a violation of this rule.  We ask that parents contact the main office if a student is to be contacted during the school day.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT /SCHOOL CALENDAR

AGAPE has many opportunities for parent involvement. We welcome your presence at school. Our young parents need the support of their parents in order to achieve great things. We invite your participation on our site council. Please see the attached flyer for information about site council and important dates for parent involvement throughout the year. We need your input regarding school improvement efforts and the site council provides you the opportunity to share your ideas. If you would like to join the site council contact Tamara Meisel or Carol Carter at 651-228-7746.  Your participation shows your support of your daughters and our school. I know with our busy lives that each of us has limited time. Still, I hope you will designate some of that precious commodity to champion your daughters and grandchild at AGAPE. The next time you are at AGAPE, please introduce yourself to me.
