Ms. Tapper's Science World
img064

I am beginning my fifth year of teaching for the Saint Paul Public School District. I taught at Arlington High School for two years before transferring to AGAPE High School. I enjoy teaching science, and I have taken a "life time" to get here. I began my career as a computer programmer in Chicago. During my computer career I worked for Deutche Bank, Federated Foods, and as an independent consultant. After my third child was born (1993), and our family moved to Minnesota, I decided to follow my real passion, science. I went back to school and earned my undergraduate degree in Biology from the College of Saint Catherine. I worked for the DNR and mosquito control during the summer and managed a coffee shop during the winter. I was fortunate to be accepted into the University of Minnesota where I completed my teaching qualifications and earned my Graduate degree in Science Curriculum Development. This summer I began working on my chemistry licensure at Hamline University. This addition in licensure will allow AGAPE to offer higher level chemistry classes to the students and better prepare them for college.

As you might be able to tell, I enjoy the challenge of teaching as well as learning. I keep connected to the SPPS mainstream high schools by participating in District Science activities, as well as participating on selective committees. I whole heartedly believe that every student that enters my room, can and will succeed, as long as they come to my room prepared to make an effort to learn.

I look forward to working with you!
